Operating across a heterogeneous network of sites throughout France, the monitoring center must balance alarm volumes, regulatory requirements, and continuous human vigilance. Faced with a growing number of nuisance alarms, SPGO High Tech chose to integrate video AI. The objective: strengthen human vigilance while improving the operational performance of its monitoring center.
SPGO High Tech, an APSAD P3-certified monitoring center
Founded more than 70 years ago, SPGO began as a family-owned guarding company. During the 1980s, it expanded into remote monitoring and security systems. The remote monitoring activity is now operated under the SPGO High Tech brand.
Today, SPGO High Tech is APSAD P3 certified and employs around thirty people. Its monitoring center operates nationwide through a network of 140 partners, while continuing to provide direct installation services across Normandy and South-West France. This hybrid organization enables the company to manage a diverse portfolio of sites with varying environments and operational requirements.

Video AI to reduce nuisance alarms without compromising vigilance
Like many monitoring centers, SPGO High Tech was faced with a growing number of nuisance alarms. Animals, vehicle reflections, construction tarpaulins, or even flags at car dealerships generated countless unnecessary alarm events.
These unwanted events increased operators’ workload and gradually led to alert fatigue. Over time, this created a genuine risk of reduced vigilance.
To address this challenge, SPGO chose to integrate the Gaard Video AI module, which interfaces directly with the Horus remote monitoring software.
A gradual and controlled deployment of Video AI
Deploying the Video AI module required a six-week testing phase. This period allowed the teams to validate the consistency of AI analyses and ensure seamless integration into existing workflows.
The solution went live in September 2025, with measurable results achieved quickly:
- Significant improvement in the quality of alarms presented to operators
- 10–15% fewer alarms displayed to operators
- Effective filtering of false positives

AI supporting operators—not replacing them
SPGO deliberately adopted a gradual approach. Initially, the AI sensitivity was set to 100%, allowing operators to continue reviewing every alarm. This consultation phase enabled the teams to compare AI decisions with human expertise and build confidence in the system.
Thresholds were then reduced to 90%, before being stabilized at 80%. This level was considered the optimal balance between performance, reliability, and risk control across a portfolio of approximately 1,000 monitored sites. This approach reflects SPGO’s commitment to maintaining strong human oversight while meeting operational and regulatory requirements.
A lasting positive impact on people
Beyond the performance metrics, the most significant impact has been on the people. Reducing false positives has restored meaning to operators’ work while reducing fatigue.
Our real objective was to strengthen operators’ vigilance when handling critical events. Today, the team is more dynamic and more engaged.
