Faced with the complexity of its industrial organization and the need to strengthen occupational risk prevention, ACOME chose the Alfatéa HSE software. The objective: harmonize practices, structure its prevention approach and sustainably improve occupational health and safety.
Interview with Marie-Laure LAVERNHE, HSE Coordinator at ACOME.
An Industrial Company Facing Complex Risk Prevention Challenges
ACOME is a French manufacturer of cables and optical fibers serving the automotive, railway and construction sectors. The company has more than 1,000 employees at its production site. It also has several UAPs, with different organizations depending on the production units and work situations.
The prevention department, made up of 4 people, supports operational teams and coordinates the entire prevention approach. Its role covers occupational risk prevention, workplace safety, accident management, and the continuous improvement of working conditions.
In such an industrial environment, harmonizing practices, monitoring actions and maintaining an overall view of risks is a major challenge. Before Alfatéa, everything relied on multiple Excel spreadsheets that were heterogeneous and difficult to maintain and update.
An Implementation Driven by Regulatory Requirements and Risk Prevention
The project began with the French “pénibilité” decree, which required companies to assess and track 10 occupational hardship factors. For ACOME, with almost half of its workforce working in production, this requirement was extremely complex to implement using the existing tools (Excel files only). This represented a major occupational health challenge.
The issue quickly went beyond simple compliance with the French Labour Code. The teams carried out an assessment that resulted in more than 6,000 lines of risk assessments, written differently depending on the UAP, with no possible consolidation. Risk assessments were difficult to analyze and link to preventive measures. In addition, several actions could no longer be properly tracked.
Faced with this situation, ACOME evaluated several HSE software solutions on the market. Alfatéa quickly stood out, both for meeting regulatory requirements and, above all, for sustainably structuring risk prevention and professionalizing overall HSE management.
The Alfatéa solution seemed to us to be the most comprehensive and relevant, with better historical tracking and a robust structure.

A Progressive HSE Software Rollout with Ongoing Support
The project became operational in 2019. ACOME chose a progressive, module-by-module rollout in order to establish new practices sustainably within the UAPs and implement a reliable health and safety organization.
Modules deployed:
- Risk assessment
- Action plans
- Job descriptions
- Undesirable events
- Accident management
- Reporting
- Environment (in connection with ISO 14001)
To ensure adoption, one member of the HSE department is dedicated to the project. The company has also created a network of representatives for each UAP, responsible for providing operational support in the field. Meetings every six to seven weeks help harmonize methods, correct deviations, strengthen control over preventive measures and share best practices.
Azursoft’s support plays a key role.
We receive excellent support. Our requests for improvements are almost always taken into account. This openness is a real strength.

HSE Software for Clear Visibility and Stronger Management
Since adopting Alfatéa, ACOME has gained a fully unified view of its risk prevention activities. Assessments, action plans, progress rates and delays are automatically consolidated and shared across the company.
The benefits are numerous:
- A structured prevention approach, from field operations to central management
- Immediate cross-functional visibility into what is happening within each UAP
- In-depth analysis of accident data, risks and progress
- Alerts, reminders and dashboards for continuous monitoring
- Harmonized prevention practices and measures
- A greater ability to protect workers’ health and safety
For ACOME, the impact is clear. While accident rates depend on many factors, the company has observed an overall decrease, linked to better management of work situations.
Our management is clear, structured and effective. The tool enables us to carry out highly detailed analyses and really target the areas that need improvement.

Strong Support for ISO 45001 Certification and Occupational Health and Safety

ACOME is ISO 45001 certified. Alfatéa directly contributes to maintaining this certification. HSE programs are managed within the tool, monitored through action plans, consolidated into progress percentages and presented during management reviews and to auditors.
The company also uses Alfatéa to manage other commitments, including insurer recommendations, environmental requirements, actions related to working conditions and occupational diseases.
A Structuring HSE Solution for Mature Risk Prevention
Over the years, Alfatéa has become a central pillar of occupational health and safety and occupational risk prevention at ACOME. Its scalability, ability to adapt to field requirements and role in structuring workplace safety make it a sustainable solution.
The results are clear:
- consistent, centrally managed prevention
- better-equipped teams
- stronger analytical capabilities
- effective support for health and safety requirements
- an established culture of continuous improvement
A strong, long-term partnership that has enabled ACOME to significantly improve its level of risk prevention management.
